(January 27, 2024 – Clearwater, FL) Koozie Group is pleased to announce a new promotional products supplier partnership with SproutWorld.

SproutWorld is the maker and global patent holder of the world’s first plantable pencil. Developed by MIT robotics students, Danish entrepreneur Michael Stausholm saw the invention’s potential and purchased the patent and rights in 2013. Since then, the company’s mission has been to inspire individuals and companies to have a more sustainable mindset. Its plantable products symbolize possibility, an easy way to practice sustainability in a throwaway culture.

Debbie Disparte, Director of Product Innovation & Sustainability at Koozie Group, said, “The SproutWorld™ mission aligns perfectly with Koozie Group® values. As an industry leader in sustainability efforts, we’re excited to add these unique pencils to our innovative writing instrument category.”

Camilla Vedel, CCO/Global Sales Director of SproutWorld, explained, “The idea behind our patented Sprout pencil originates in the USA, which has been a focus market for us with continuous growth over the years. We are delighted to partner with Koozie Group to help take SproutWorld to the next level in America. Their writing instrument specialization and sustainability leadership completely align with our values.”

The SproutWorld™ FSC® Pencil Item#: 56083 is crafted from FSC®-certified wood and features a biodegradable cellulose capsule at the end that’s filled with seeds ready to sprout when the pencil is too short to use. Koozie Group offers five seed options: basil, carnation, cucumber, daisy, and forget-me-not. Koozie Group will only be selling SproutWorld™ pencils in the US market.

About SproutWorld:
SproutWorld was founded in 2013 by Danish entrepreneur Michael Stausholm and is B Corp certified, with production carried out in both the USA and the EU, adhering to high sustainability standards. The company holds the global patent for “plantable writing instruments” and has sold over 80 million plantable pencils in more than 80 countries. Sprout plantable pencils have a seed capsule at one end and can grow into different plants, such as basil, sunflower, cherry tomato, or melon.

The idea behind the Sprout pencil is to use it first and then give it a new life by planting it instead of throwing it away. In this way, the Sprout pencil becomes a powerful messenger of recycling and sustainability, easily sparking conversations. If you can plant a pencil after using it, what else can you do to start making a difference?

SproutWorld, its founder, and the plantable pencils have been featured in a wide variety of international media, including Forbes, Business Insider, CNN, The Guardian, Good Morning America, El País, El Mundo, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, National Geographic, and many more.
