Communications and Content Manager – Marketing – Clearwater, Florida
Today we recognize Becky Tonn for her role as a Communications and Content Manager in our Marketing Department.
Becky recently celebrated her 6-year anniversary with the company, spending the first 5 years as the Copywriter in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She has been in her current role since August 2021.
In this position, Becky works on a variety of internal and external communications. On any given day, she might be writing a blog post, creating a customer e-newsletter, or compiling the Koozie Group Listen Up. She also coordinates press releases and facilitates requests from trade publications for input from Koozie Group senior leadership that they can use in their articles. Besides these routine tasks, Becky gets to put on her creative hat for various marketing campaigns, too.
Becky’s favorite part of working at Koozie Group is the people.
“I’ve worked on such fun and supportive teams,” she said. “Everyone on the marketing team is ready to pitch in when needed, and I’m always amazed by their talent and creativity!”
As for her favorite People Power, Becky is partial toward Speak With Truth & Kindness; Act With Integrity.
“We spend a lot of time at work, and it’s so important to be our authentic selves,” she said. “We can only do that by encouraging each other so that everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves. I feel like it’s the foundation for all the other People Powers.”
As for her favorite Koozie Group product, one item that is near and dear to Becky’s heart is Daily History 7052/7252.
“In my role as Copywriter, I had to dig up an interesting historical fact for every day of the year for this product,” Becky said. “The copy is rotated on a 3-year cycle, so that meant finding over 1,000 bits of info. For a history major, that was a dream assignment!”
Fun fact about Becky: she’s a TV star! Well, sort of. Her house, in fact, was featured on an episode of HGTV’s “If Walls Could Talk.”
“It was very interesting to see how a day’s worth of filming was edited into about a 5-minute segment,” she said. “I learned that I’m a terrible actress!”
In her spare time, Becky loves spending time with her family, especially traveling with them and exploring new places. And, on a cold winter evening in Minnesota, nothing beats curling up with a good book or working on a quilt!
Thank you, Becky, for creating and managing so many incredible marketing and communications pieces and projects!
