Great ideas often start with a simple question.
At the 2025 PPAI Expo, Richard Hellinger, President of Business Development, was talking with a client who was buying traditional round bottles. They wanted something different; something that would help their brand stand out in a crowded market. To spark the conversation, the client pulled out a square juice bottle as inspiration.
That moment set innovation in motion.
Rethinking the Shape without Rethinking the Process
While a fully square bottle might look unique, it presents challenges when it comes to decoration. Knowing the importance of maintaining compatibility with existing imprinting equipment, Richard envisioned a hybrid solution: a bottle with two flat sides and two rounded sides. The result? A distinctive silhouette that still imprints easily and efficiently.
But the innovation didn’t stop there.
Garyline already had deep expertise in manufacturing embossed license plates. Drawing on that experience, Richard engineered a way to emboss the two flat sides of the bottle, adding dimensional branding that consumers can see and feel.
That design earned a 2026 Silver PPAI Pyramid Award: Supplier Decorating – Special Applications/Processes, which recognizes excellence in craft.

The original award-winning design came to life as the Garyline® Boss Embossed Tritan® Bottle with Drink-Thru Lid – 24 oz. (Item#: EXB241D). Like many Garyline®-branded products, it’s proudly manufactured in Koozie Group’s fully integrated facility in Spring Hill, Florida, ensuring quality and reliability from start to finish.
The Next Evolution: Sustainability Meets Style
Building on the success of the original bottle, a second version launched in November 2025. The Garyline® Boss Embossed RPET Bottle (Item#: EB26) takes innovation a step further with sustainability at its core.
