Moderated frugality – a symptom of slow economic recovery.  We’re not out of the woods yet, right?  So here are two gift giving trends that reflect that mindset.

1)  Personalize – put a little of yourself and your brand into the gift.  Perhaps its downloading a personalized, value-added message onto a digital frame or USB.  Or creating a custom calendar with helpful messages, coupons or reminders.  Or putting the recipient’s name or initials on the item – particularly effective for corporate gifts or top customer “thank you’s.”

2)  People are continuing to spend more time at home.  Entertaining at home has long been a consistant trend and it continues.  Housewares and home entertaining accessories are always appreciated and are still surprising for the promotional products industry.  Bar sets, serving dishes, elegant glassware, cutting boards – all great examples of items that will be appreciated over and over – with each party or family dinner.
