Since launching in January, The #46317 Koozie® Savannah Tumbler – 18 oz. is quickly becoming one of our most popular new products. Sure, it looks cool and performs well like all Koozie® drinkware, but there’s something a little extra special about the Savannah Tumbler. And the story actually starts in Savannah, more specifically at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
Back in our BIC Graphic days, we approached SCAD to get feedback from a younger demographic outside the promo industry for their insights into end user’s interests. This launched a collaboration that resulted in stylish Koozie® drinkware like the award-winning Hartwell and the new Savannah Tumbler.
This collaboration started with a team of eight industrial design, illustration and graphic design students at both the undergrad and graduate levels. This team developed 100 wildly creative base sketch ideations, taking pros and cons of the current promotional drinkware assortment into consideration. The SCAD team presented 16 initial concepts with prototypes and testing to Koozie Group.
After receiving feedback on how their ideas could translate to the promotional products market, the SCAD students combined elements of several concepts to create a selection of semi-final designs. The Koozie Group in-house design and product management teams took it from there, creating CAD models and 3D print prototypes to further the drinkware’s development. It wasn’t long before the Koozie® Savannah Tumbler was born!
