Associate – Red Wing, Minnesota

Today we recognize Briana Larson for her work at our Red Wing, Minnesota, location and for recently competing in the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida!

Briana, a resident of Plum City, Wisconsin, is employed at ProAct Support Services and works in the community with supportive services at Koozie Group in Red Wing. Her role involves unpackaging, removing packing from items, and occasionally helping with other tasks such as emptying the garbage.

Briana’s favorite part of working at Koozie Group is being able to interact with kind and respectful people. In fact, “Speak With Truth & Kindness; Act With Integrity” is her favorite People Power.

“I just want everyone to get along and not leave anybody out,” she said.

Outside of Koozie Group, Briana loves to crochet, listen to patriotic music, and visit with her friends. She also enjoys making blankets and baby hats, which she then donates to local hospitals and cancer centers.

One very important part of Briana’s life has been competing in Special Olympics events. Recently, after 13 years of participating in local competitions, Briana realized her dream of competing on a national level at the Special Olympics USA Games.

Besides training very hard, exercising, and attending Zoom meetings, each athlete who took part in the selection process was also required to raise a minimum of $500 toward the cost of attending the USA Games. After learning about the costs associated with participating, Koozie Group decided to help Briana make her dream come true by donating $1,500 to her cause. The company also held a send-off party for Briana and printed a water bottle for each member of the Wisconsin Special Olympics team.

Briana was able to proudly represent her home state at the USA Games not only as a member of the team, but also as a flag bearer. As it turns out, she was a top fundraiser and therefore was able to carry the Wisconsin state flag during opening ceremonies.

At the national competition, Briana participated in a variety of track and field events. In the 100-meter run and the 4×100-meter relay, she came out on top, earning first place and a gold medal in both events.

Speaking of her experience at the 2022 USA Games, Briana said, “I had a lot of fun and met lots of new people. My family and I want to give a shoutout to Koozie Group for all the support they have shown me in my journey to the USA Games! Koozie Group is awesome. Thanks for letting me work here!”

Thank you, Briana, for everything you do for Koozie Group and congratulations on achieving your dream of competing in the Special Olympics USA Games!
