Think “non-profit” equals small budgets? Not necessarily. While non-profits, charities and cause marketing organizations are closely monitored for fiscal responsibility, they all have to spend money to raise money.
There are over 1.5 million non-profits in the US and more than $350 billion donated to US charitable organizations. Larger non-profit organizations have armies of volunteers, fundraisers, staffers and donors. They all need to be rewarded and motivated for their efforts. In addition to the branding and messaging opportunities supporting fundraising events, distributors can mine these organizations for opportunities top to bottom.
Consider these ideas next time you meet with a potential client to grow your business.
Awards/Recognition — Donors and staff both need to be rewarded for their support of the organization. Consider something elegant, like a small crystal award customized with the recipient’s name.
Bags — Offer staffers a unique thank you gift such as a branded backpack or messenger bag. Bags have some of the highest impressions in the industry and whether carried for work or play, will be greatly appreciated as it spreads their message.
Sports Bottles — A terrific idea for both volunteer and participant giveaways. Hydration is important for health and wellbeing. Show your volunteers and event participants you care by giving them the gift on on-the-go hydration.
Calendars — Have a lot to say? Sharing research data, event dates, program information? Calendars offer a lot of real estate to communicate the cause’s mission, details and progress. Calendars are a great giveaway for supporters and staffers alike.
